The International Seminar for Translators from Slovenian will welcome up to 12 established and emerging translators of Slovenian literature and offer them opportunities to gain insights into contemporary Slovenian literature and collaborate with Slovenian authors, translators, and experts.
Benefits:
• Free participation, including five nights with full board (17–21 August 2026).
• Travel expenses covered up to €500 (Europe) or €800 (outside Europe).

Translators who specialise in Slovenian literature. Translators can be selected for the seminar only every other year and only if they have completed all assignments from previous seminars (i.e., submitted final translations of the texts discussed at the seminar by the agreed deadline). Priority will be given to literary translators applying for the seminar for the first time, based on their professional references.
Requirements:
• Submit translations of 6–8 pages from each selected work
• Submit revised translations by the deadline agreed with the seminar leader.
• Publish at least one translation (or excerpt) within two years of the seminar, in relevant print or online media.
